Four Mother’s Day Gifts: Buy or DIY

Four Mother’s Day Gifts: Buy or DIY

Whether you need to purchase something this week, or want to get a little crafty with this year's gift, here are four gift ideas mom is sure to love this Mother's Day!

Aromatic roll ons

Mom can take her favourite scent or essential oil blend with her, with safe & easy-to-use roll ons.

DIY

Roll ons for topical use consist of 3% essential oil(s) in a carrier oil. Simply add six drops of essential oils (in total) to a 10mL rollerball bottle and top up with the carrier oil of your choice (we recommend stable oils like coconut or jojoba). For step-by-step video instructions, join Randi Lee for the DIY Roll Ons edition of Ask Your Aromatherapist

Pre-made

Check out our selection of popular aromatic roll ons in-store or online. Secret Garden, Zen Lotus and Brain Boost are especially popular with moms.

Bath bombs or bath salts

Classic! What’s nicer than a beautiful, aromatic bath in soothing salts?

DIY

Make your own bath bombs or bath salts with all natural ingredients and mom's favourite scent, with these instructions from our blog.

Pre-made

Choose from six different scents of bath bombs (and mix & match five for $30!) or our five different mineral soaks

Beeswax candles

Beeswax candles are amazing because a) they don’t contain the toxins other candles do and b) they burn for SO LONG!

DIY

With pure beeswax, coconut oil, a jar and a wick, you can create a beeswax candle for mom that will last for dozens of hours of burning time!

Pre-made

We sell Honey Candles in the store — we love that they are made in Kaslo, BC by an amazing, mindful business!

Cold brew coffee

Cold brew coffee is all the rage, and such a tasty option moving into the summer. It’s less acidic than conventionally brewed coffee, and will keep in your fridge for up to two weeks! Perfect for making iced coffee.

DIY

Get mom set up to cold-brew her own coffee with a Coffee Sock (we sell these in the store!), some tasty organic beans from your local roaster and a simple recipe!

Pre-made

Lots of coffee shops and stores are selling cold brew coffee these days! One of our favourites, available across Alberta, is Calgary-brewed Blackbird Cold Brew Coffee
